We are counting down to the
Creative Gathering and hope you are too! As you are planning your
projects and planning what you will work on, all of you will have a different goal. Some of you will
want to get lots done, some of you will come and want to work on a key
project (like a mini-book, or something altered), remember that this weekend is
about you, about taking the time for you and preserving your memories,
this is your time and we want you to have a good time!
The following announcements are to ensure that you do have a great time!
To find the 55 Plus is easy –
Just drive into Steinbach on Hwy 12 and drive past the store, you will
continue up HWY 12 till your past 5 sets of lights(the last set is McKenzie) you will get into the left hand lane and at the 1st turn to your left is Chrysler Gate, you will turn left and them immediately on your right is the Steinbach 55Plus. (Click on the name for a Mapquest Map). For those of you who are coming
from out of town, we have 2 main hotels in Steinbach, the Days Inn and
the Sleep Suite Motel. However I have been informed that they are both full due to a
Provincial Hockey tournament in Stbh that weekend. So I looked around
and these are 3 other options I can give you. Hotel LaBroquerie is about a 15 minute drive from the event, they still had 11 rooms available. Frantz Motor Inn is located about 5 minutes away (there is a bar there, so I cannot guarantee how quiet it would be:-).
As well, a fellow Scrapbooker owns the Bed and Breakfast called Chickadee Lane, about 5 minutes from Steinbach, Marlene can be reached at 326-3908, and she has a room with 1 Queen bed available. There is an Internet connection
available at the 55Plus however there is a cost involved, if having
that connection is important to you (you are a digital scrapbooker) please send me an email so I can speak with you about this important detail.
We want to be as environmentally
conscious as possible, you will receive a bag for your garbage at your
spot, please limit your garbage to paper in that bag and throw the bag in
a recycle bin at the end of both evenings. As well, you will receive
one water bottle at your spot and we will have a place to refill it, please do so and recycle your bottle at the end of the weekend. As well, other ways you can help is to bring your own mug(with a lid) for coffee/beverages – Let’s do what we can!
You will be provided with supper
and a snack Friday night, Muffins and coffee Sat morning and then
Lunch, dinner and a snack on Sat. You are welcome to bring in outside food or beverages to this location, so go ahead and pick up a Timmy’s coffee if you need oneJ This is a big job
feeding all you ladies in an organized and timely matter, tables will
all have a number and we will call you up in groups for meals, snacks will be put up according
to schedule, feel free to help yourself. All the tables are rented so
please be careful when you are stamping and cutting, if you have a mat to work on I encourage you to bring it!
We will have our WHOLE store at
this location, and we are happy to help you find that perfect item to
complete your project, don't hesitate to ask the “Cottage Girls” to give you a hand, as well, we are able to accept Cash, Cheque, Mastercard and Visa at this location, we are unable to accept Debit.
In the store we have a tab set
up for everyone, this way you are able to grab something in the store,
add it to your tab and then pay for your bill at the end of the night (if you are a one-day cropper) or at the end of the weekend (if you are a weekend cropper) if you prefer. You can gladly ask the “Cottage
Girls” where your tab is at when you are in the store and that way
there will not be any surprises
****Classes must be signed up for ahead of time, you may sign up by sending the store an email, or giving us a call.
Classes must be paid for when signed up, or arrangements must be made to pay immediately upon coming to the CG.
Classes may also
be signed up for in our ONLINE Store starting Feb 17th. Classes are a
great way to break up the day and create in a different way!

We will be having 6 sketch challenges – 2
Friday night and 4 on Saturday, to participate in the challenge, when
the challenge is announced,
go and pick up a sketch, complete the sketch
within the allotted time, show the completed sketch to the Cottage
Girls and get a ticket.
When the sketch is closed the tickets will be drawn and some prizes will be given out.

You are invited to our Spring Creative Gathering March 5th & 6th, 2010!We call it a Creative Gathering as whether you like to scrapbook, make cards or work on various altered albums or objects – you are invited! The Gathering will be held at the Steinbach 55Plus, 10 Chapel Drive in Steinbach, on Friday March 5th from 4pm to 11:30pm & Saturday, March 6th from 9am to 9pm. The price for both days is $60.00(+gst) What does this include?All your food and beverages, a make n’take, a welcome gift, door prizes, contests, a nice work area (2 people to an 8 foot table)and the chance to get caught up on your projects! Plus the WHOLE store will be on site FULL of the latest products from CHA!!
